The survival of a small kid brought half dead who plunged headlong into a bucket of water has surprised medical practitioners. Safna,
one and a half years old, daughter of Jalal and Asiya of Kakkanaad Lakshamveedu colony has surprised even medical science by returning to
normal life and normal brain function.
The incident happened when her mother had gone to bring water, who returned to see her kid lying headlong into a bucket filled with water.
The baby had turned blue and had lost the ability to speak and not breathing, near death, frothing from the mouth. She was taken to
Ernakulum Medical Center, but was referred to PVS Hospital for better speciality treatment. On admission to PVS, the kid was in a serious
condition near death. The doctors were faced with two challenges, to restore her normal breathing and another is to prevent cerebral
edema, a condition where fluid gets collected into the brain matter.
Baby was saved by the doctors with ventilators care for 3 days and surprised medical world by the brain being normal.
